Remembering Jeremy Choate

A bright light in the firmament of the Houston arts community has been extinguished.  Light-artist and lighting-designer Jeremy Choate was riding his motorcycle Saturday night, Aug. 11, and suffered massive traumatic head injuries when a driver struck him from behind while Choate was stopped at a traffic light. A year ago, Choate (33) worked with choreographer and dancer Andy Noble, in the creation of Splitting Night: An Evening of Dance and Light, which NobleMotion premiered last August. In an interview with Catherine Lu, Choate described how he went about developing the lighting aspects of Splitting Night.
